Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home having a combined gross residence earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic earnings will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and here R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the right Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
